‘Confirmation of the end for Arsene Wenger’ – British journalist has dropped new verdict on the future of Arsenal manager
One of the journalists who has often shown support for Arsene Wenger in the past has suddenly changed his tune, following the defeat to Manchester City.
Arsenal are now very much in the midst of arguably their worst season under Wenger, following a run of poor results which have seen them remain out of the top four of the Premier League.
After failing to qualify for the Champions League last season, many fans and pundits were surprised to see the club’s hierarchy reward the Arsenal manager with yet another new contract.
Following Sunday’s 3-0 defeat at Wembley stadium in the final of the Carabao Cup, more supporters than ever have loudened their voices as they continue to call for a major change at the club.
Over the years, one man who has refused to side with the ‘Wenger Out’ brigade has been journalist John Cross who works for The Mirror newspaper.
However, after witnessing the dull performance from the Gunners on Thursday which saw them lose their third game in a row, even Cross has now admitted that the Wenger reign is nearing an end.
Tonight is confirmation of the end for Arsene Wenger. So sad, after everything he has done for the club, that it has to end like this.
