Manchester United appear to be dealing with a similar problem to Arsenal’s ahead of the clash at Old Trafford in a fortnight.
The Gunners prepared for the international break with a 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur which saw a penalty-kick from Harry Kane deny them victory.
However, Manchester United had a better result to look back upon as goals from Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic secured a 3-1 win at Swansea City which ended a run of four games without victory.
Even so, the Red Devils will have a few concerns to deal with ahead of their next fixture following the news that several key players are set to be absent for arguably their toughest game of the season thus far.
Ibrahimovic is now guaranteed to sit out the clash at Old Trafford and it appears he will not be the only star player to watch from the sidelines.
Eric Bailly is another man who will definitely not play as he recovers from a knee injury while Antonio Valencia is also struggling with an arm problem.
In addition to those absentees, the likes of Luke Shaw and Chris Smalling, who were not involved on Sunday, have now been confirmed as sidelined after Gareth Southgate’s decision to leave them out of the England squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
The last time Arsenal faced Manchester United in the Premier League, a surprise performance from Marcus Rashford saw the teenager score twice, condemning the Gunners to a 3-2 defeat.
