David Ornstein reveals what Arsenal target has done after talks to make him new manager
Highly-regarded journalist David Ornstein has revealed Mikel Arteta’s latest move after being approached by the Gunners over the managerial role at the Emirates stadium.
Arsenal started the campaign with Unai Emery in charge of the team as the Spaniard looked to make up for his failure to bring back Champions League football to the club in his debut season.
After a very poor run of results though, Emery’s reign as Arsenal manager was brought to an end last month as the club continues its search for someone capable of replacing the former PSG boss.
Many noises have been made today about the possibility of Mikel Arteta taking over as the Gunners’ new manager.
And David Ornstein has revealed that the club actually held talks with the Spaniard last week along with former Gunner Patrick Vieira.
According to the journalist, Arteta has now told Manchester City that he is in talks with Arsenal and even though City are yet to receive an official enquiry from the Gunners, the Premier League champions are seeking a big compensation for the potential exit of their assistant manager.
