Ornstein says Arsenal are ‘negotiating today’ to sign 27-year-old

Arsenal are claimed to be edging closer to what would be their first new signing of the January transfer window, according to reliable journalist David Ornstein.
The Gunners were quiet in the transfer market for much of last summer, before going on to wrap up expensive deals for the likes of Nicolas Pepe and William Saliba before the deadline.
Having failed to bring in any new players so far this month, the club appears to have once again planned to leave its business to be done late in the transfer window.
With a couple of defenders currently on the sidelines, Mikel Arteta is looking to bring in a player in that position and it looks as though Layvin Kurzawa is the man being targeted.
According to former BBC journalist David Ornstein, the Gunners have indeed entered ‘advanced talks’ to sign the 27-year-old from Paris Saint-Germain before his contract with the Ligue 1 club expires in the summer.
Arsenal in advanced talks to sign PSG left-back Layvin Kurzawa. Negotiating today over deal for this window. Free agent in summer so trying to do it now without fee. #AFC working on 3-4 loan / free / low fee deals (doesn’t mean will do all) @TheAthleticUK: https://t.co/OmzZiA5Ije
