Arsenal are expected to announce the arrival of another new defender within the next week or so, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.
The Gunners have been fairly busy in the transfer market so far, with the services of Stephan Lichtsteiner and Bernd Leno already secured this month.
New Arsenal manager Unai Emery is expected to add more new faces to a defensive unit which conceded the most goals out of all of the top six sides in the Premier League last season.
And according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, the club has completed the deal to sign Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Dortmund.
Indeed, the Gunners are on course to announce the signing of the Greek defender by next month.
“Stephan Lichtsteiner is in, Bernd Leno is in and Sokratis Papastathopoulos will sign on July 1.” the Sky Sports News reporter said
“The reason July 1 is because Borussia Dortmund want to announce that at the start of the new tax quarter in Germany.”
