Arsenal’s acquisition of a new defender could be completed as early as next week according to a relative of the player.
Arsene Wenger has watched his side concede a whopping 40 goals so far in the Premier League while Bayern Munich put ten goals past them in the Champions League round of 16 tie.
As a result, the Gunners have made a proactive attempt to address some defensive frailties by targeting the services of Schalke full-back Sead Kolašinac.
Reports from last week suggested that the 23-year-old had already agreed to move to the Emirates stadium once this season is brought to an end.
However, the player’s father has cooled down those claims by insisting that Kolašinac is still working on making a decision over his next destination which is expected to be Arsenal.
“Sead has not signed anything with anyone. It is true that he was in touch with Arsenal, but he is not Arsenal’s player yet,” Kolasinac Sr. was quoted as saying by ESPN
“We will see. This week I will meet Sead and his agent. We will sit down and finally make a decision.”
