Arsenal are preparing to hold talks with the agent of Sampdoria striker Patrik Schick ahead of a possible transfer this summer.
The Gunners have relied heavily on Alexis Sanchez for goals this season with a top four finish in the Premier League now seemingly unlikely.
Arsene Wenger’s strong pursuit of a new striker last summer saw him settle for the addition of Lucas Perez after being turned down by Jamie Vardy.
According to the Daily Mail, the Arsenal boss has resumed his search for a goalscorer by targeting the signing of Patrik Schick.
The 21-year-old has attracted the interest of several clubs after a string of promising displays in the Serie A so far this season.
The report is indicating that Schick’s agent is expected to arrive in London today ahead of negotiations with the Gunners as well as local rivals Tottenham who are also in pursuit of the player.
With a buy-out clause of £21 million, Arsenal will certainly afford a move for Schick, especially if Alexis Sanchez is sold.
