New Arsenal manager Unai Emery appears to be closing in on another signing to add to the acquisition of Stephan Lichtsteiner a week ago.
The Gunners are being tipped to have a very busy summer transfer window after saying goodbye to Arsene Wenger, who was in charge of the team for 22 long years.
Emery has already managed to secure the services of former Juventus star Stephan Lichtsteiner to improve his defensive unit and he is working on signing Freiburg star Caglar Soyuncu as well.
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are now edging closer to securing a deal to sign the 22-year-old defender this summer after making contact over a transfer.
The report is suggesting that Soyuncu’s agent, Mustafa Dogru, has stated that ‘all that remains is for a fee to be agreed’.
Freiburg are believed to be asking for a fee in the region of £35million for the Turkish international who has attracted the interest of most clubs after his displays in the Bundesliga.
With Laurent Koscielny struggling to stay fit while Shkodran Mustafi’s form remains concerning, the Gunners have every reason to seek the signing of a new defender ahead of next season.
