Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger appears to be eyeing a deal to sign another player in the upcoming transfer window.
The Frenchman was responsible for making five acquisitions during the summer as Granit Xhaka, Rob Holding, Takuma Asano, Lucas Perez and Shkodran Mustafi were all added to the squad.
New reports are suggesting that the Gunners are now targeting a deal to sign another player when the transfer window reopens with a new midfielder being the likely choice.
According to the Sun, Wenger is planning on signing AS Roma star Leandro Paredes by mid-January to bolster his options as Arsenal pursue the Premier League title and Champions League glory in what could be his final season as manager.
The report claims the Arsenal boss has been in contact with representatives of the 22-year-old after directly showing interest in the player.
Paredes, who broke into the Roma first-team this season, has manged to score once in 14 games for the Italian side so far this term.
Wenger may find the addition of the deep-lying Argentine midfielder to be necessary following Santi Cazorla’s recent injury woes which has seen him sidelined for several weeks.
