Arsene Wenger is edging closer to a deal which will see him lose one of his first team stars this summer.
The Arsenal manager has offloaded the likes of Yaya Sanogo, Wojciech Szczesny, Kaylen Hinds and Chris Willock so far ahead of the new campaign.
And Lucas Perez now appears to be the man closing in on a departure as Wenger continues his summer clear-out.
According to the Mirror, the fordward’s agent Rodrigo Fernandez is now in London for talks over his exit.
The report is indicating that Perez’s representative is attempting to help secure a return to Deportivo La Coruna for the Spaniard.
Arsenal have already received an offer from the La Liga side who are prepared to hand Perez a long-term contract and a future coaching role at the club.
The 28-year-old, who is currently pocketing €78,000-a-week (£70,000) in wages, rarely featured in his debut season at the Emirates stadium.
Fernandez recently reiterated his client’s desire to leave Arsenal for good.
“I’m waiting for Arsenal to come back to me,” the player’s agent said
“But the best offer they have on the table for Lucas is from Deportivo.
“At Arsenal they know he’s going to play very little there and they know that Deportivo want him.”
