Arsene Wenger has secured another important deal for his squad, heading into the winter transfer window.
The Arsenal manager has improved his approach towards strengthening his team over the past year after signing five players during the summer and confirming a new contract for key defender Hector Bellerin on Monday.
And with just over a month left before the next transfer window opens, the Gunners have announced another bright propsect has committed his future to the club.
Emiliano Martinez, who has been at Arsenal since joining the academy in 2010, has signed a new long-term contract with the club.
The Argentine star is behind Petr Cech and David Ospina in the pecking order but his new deals indicates he could have a more regurlar role very soon.
Thus, the future of Poland international Wojciech Szczesny, who is currently on loan at AS Roma, is in further doubt.
“If you look at him [Martinez], I personally see all the top qualities that a goalkeeper needs,” Wenger told Arsenal Player.
“He has the stature, he has the passion, he has the technical quality, he has the decision-making, he has huge power and he’s not frightened of anything.”
