‘Don’t want him in an Arsenal shirt again’: Some fans attack Arsenal player after Anfield loss
As expected, most of the players who featured in defence for Arsenal on Wednesday have not been getting any praises for the part they played in the loss away to Liverpool.
The Gunners were in action against Liverpool on Wednesday night as they looked to secure a place in the last eight of the League Cup.
Despite recovering from going a goal down to lead by two goals on two occasions, Arsenal managed to finish the game with the score level after allowing the home side back into the contest.
It was a match which saw reserve goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez get a chance to challenge Bernd Leno for a place in the regular starting eleven.
However, just as he did seven years ago in the famous 7-5 win at Reading – in this same competition – Martinez picked the ball out of his own net five times.
It was a night to forget for the 27-year-old in goal as several fans bashed him on social media…
Don’t want to see Emiliano Martinez in an Arsenal shirt ever again.

Emiliano Martinez didn't cover himself in glory tonight. Never looked close to saving any penalties (perfect for Arsenal!) and could have done better with the goals conceded during the game. Still needs a chance, but today wasn't great

2/10 performance from Martinez tonight. Awful.

Emi Martinez is the worst goalkeeper we’ve had since Almunia. Their last 3 were all saveable and went in because of him. Unbelievable

Emi Martinez btw, that was a horror show. Reminiscent of Fabianski in the 4-4 a few years ago.
