BREAKING NEWS: Arsenal reject offer for Fabregas
Arsenal Football Club has shown its ambition today.
Following Barcelona’s confirmation of an official inquiry for Fabregas earlier today, the club has finally broken its silence and states:
“Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas is under contract with the Club until the summer of 2015. He is a highly valued member of the team and part of our future plans.
And Unlike 2005’s sale of captain Vieira and 2007’s sale of skipper Henry, Arsenal FC have for once made clear their unwillingness to let go of another influential player.
“We have followed recent speculation linking Cesc with a move away from the Club but as there has never been any official approach for him, only two informal exchanges, in which we made it abundantly clear that we have no interest in transferring Cesc, we have refrained from publicly passing comment.”
“However, yesterday evening we received an offer from Barcelona for Cesc and in response, we immediately and resolutely told them once again that we have no intention of selling our captain.”
“To be clear, we will not make any kind of counterproposal or enter into any discussion. Barcelona have publicly stated that they will respect our position and we expect that they will keep their word.”
YESSSSSS, great news, now we announce the signing of joe cole and in the next week 2 defenders and a keeper and we got the trebel
great fucking news.
WE GREW SOME BALLS.
well done to the arsenal – all they can do.
we must hope that cesc will respect this decision and give us 100%.
if not, well then we are in trouble.
but i don’t think it is his style — unlike one or two before him. two of whom are currently at chelsea.
but we must use this as a wake-up call and we (ok, aw) must give him a better team to captain.
Thats better my previous note early this am expressed my disappointment .NOW the news seems much better. Is Mr Wegner at last a Football Coach first and not a Economist .Great!! lets hope sneaky Barc do not come up with something riduculous and that Asenal F C remain resolute now. A couple of senior transfers and we could be well set After 75 years of support this club I reman loyal. Lawrence J Beadle
am glad for that comment from the arsenal board room but that should not mean the arsenal fans should jubilate b4 the transfer window is done though. And fnally joe cole would b a good signing but not 4 arsenal
that’s gud but hope wenger is the one who wrote it. all we need is a DM a combative and intelligent one like yaya toure, and 2 CB to support Vermelen. i think almunia should b gud enough there’s still enough time 4 wenger 2 think.
great news indeed .
It’s the greatest news 4 me as a gooner and hope the promise is kept intact. Joe Cole can add in some triumph to the podium if the deal can be finalized.
is it wise to keep a player that wants to play for barca
I mean I know Fab will give everything for Arsenal next season but he still wanted to move and how will the other players feel about him knowing that fab wanted to leave them
Classy response Arsenal. Pure unadulterated class. I still don’t know what the final outcome will be but that statement put the Barcelona scum in their place and made my day.
Fantastic news !!!!!!!
One trophy will come next season for sure, if we now bolster our defence properly with some world class players , and hope we stay fit . 🙂 🙂 🙂
Cesc Fabregas intention has always been to return to Barca. I sincerely hope that Fabregas’ heart and soul is still with The Arsenal despite the club making it known to Barca about keeping our captain.
Good news, but the transfer window is still open. I still think that anything can happen. I’m glad that Arsenal stood firm on this one. I hope he stays and is still happy next season IF he stays.
I heard some rumors that, Joe Cole has agreed a 3yr contract with us. I’m not too excited about this rumor if it’s true. So, many rumors of players we “might” sign and nothing concrete has happened. Except for, Cham! God I hope we sign at least ~2-3 more players. I seriously want this team to taste success once again.
im withu entirely loft…….
A very welcome and appropriate response from the Arsenal board.Let’s hope Barca will indeed keep their word and respect our position.Joe Cole is an interesting prospect, but his acquisition would only make real sense if he were a direct replacement for Rosicky.

i think wev just won a skirmish round .the war for fab aint over yet .i just feel we should all mentally prepare ourselves for cesc’s exit .he goes for around 50 million pounds .we get gourcuff who is just brilliant and enough money to reinforce our back and gk position .i sincerely hope cesc doesnt leave but if he does want to go to barca so badly its better he goes as he will certainly not give is all for arsenal .new capt RVP or Vermaelen .
ps -busquets is a bastard ,i cant understand why cescs want to go to a team where they teach u to simulate and where he wont even get to start
Here today 6/6 it is reprted Xavi is pleading with Cesc to come to Barc. I have not heard an Arsenal player asking him please to stay, What is going on!!! By the way I keep reading He has asked to move but have not seen an actual report ?? Isn,t what this proposed President – he hasn,t been elected yet – doing a form of TAPPING. At the very least it must have an effect on the player himself, Somebody clear my mind This Barca crowd are certainly a dirty buch of administrator(if that is the word) And the silence of their coachingstaff alowing their players to fire the bullets is also pretty disgusting. Alos Mr Wegner said he wanted the transfer business over before the WCup So far one transfer we all were aware of .Mr Wegner to shore up the defence you need to keep you word. Youdid say World Cup stars are sometimes not neccesarily good regular hard working team players (words to that effect) so isn,t ittime to do something big and good for the team.

there is no room for barca fc if they need fabregas they should gives us messi.
