Wenger alerted as €114,000-a-week star admits transfer move is now likely
Arsenal star Olivier Giroud has addressed rumours which have suggested that he is considering a move away from the club.
The France international was limited to a regular place on the bench with Alexis Sanchez handed the main role at centre-forward last season.
Following the acquisition of Alexandre Lacazette this summer, the 30-year-old has been linked with a transfer to Marseille.
And speaking during Arsenal’s pre-season tour in Australia, Giroud has revealed that leaving the club is indeed an ‘option’.
“It (leaving) is an option to be honest with you,” he said.
“I’m here in pre-season, I wanted to travel. Some people asked me if I am going to travel or not and of course, I am Arsenal player and for the moment I am here so I just want to prepare well for the season and we will see later.
“It is true that I really enjoyed my five years with Arsenal,” Giroud added.
“I’m still an Arsenal player for the moment so I try to be professional. No matter what happens, I did my job on the pitch.”
