Eboue set to return for Arsenal

Emmanuel Eboue is likely to be available for next Sunday’s clash with Manchester United at least.

Arsenal’s versatile right back is due to return from Africa Cup of Nations duty after his country was knocked out of the tournament by Algeria on Sunday.

The mixed news of Ivory Coast’s exit came in dramatic fashion after ‘the Elephants’ were pegged back twice to end 2-2 at full-time, only to see a late extra-time equalizer by Kolo Toure wrongly ruled out for offside after the Algerians had taken a 3-2 lead.

Eboue was not involved in the quarter-final anyway as he served suspension for a sending off against Ghana during the group stage and is likely to come back fresh in fitness for the Gunners.

The 26-year-old’s wait for a Cup of Nations medal will go on but Arsenal’s wait for his return should end this week as he prepares for a flight back to north London.

Egypt will face Alex Song’s Cameroon tomorrow in the other quarter-final.

Obviously you are a poor reader of the game,Eboue is a great versatile squad man, we need as many players available for our (Leagues)!!!!! campaing.Now that we are out of the FA Cup.

If Sagna’s carrying a bad shoulder knock (& out of all our 1st choice back 4’s little niggles his seems to be worst) then to just have Eboue available is a massive bonus for the next 4 games. It might be a stretch but with him having sat out today’s game through suspension there really isn’t even a reason why he can’t make the bench for Villa on Wedsnesday.

Haha, yeah, I thought about that too.

But the Africa Cup of Nations ends on January 31 while the Chelsea match is on February 7. One whole week of space.

So everyone would have returned by then anyway.

Eboue anyday, anywhere on the field. He wud have been better than Sylvest at CB, Wilcot on the rightwing, Vela on the left wing, Eastmond in midfield, better at rightback…etc. Common Eboue!!!!!

Better to face the Chavs with Drogba; that way, there will be no excuses for them, at the bridge. Unfortunately, I see Cameroon winning this one.

Excuse me but i do have a dout .. Drogba got his 5th yellow card bef leaving wich means he has to sit out the nxt game .. I thot he wont be available for us .. Now watll happen .. Will he sit out the game before, tat is burnley or Hull and play against us or will he be sittin for our game .. Any idea ??

You’re right, Drogba did get his 5th booking before heading off but Chelsea have three games before our match and the suspension for Drogba is just one game.

So they can choose to just rest him on Wednesday against Birmingham (if he’s available) but he surely won’t miss our game just because of a one-match ban.

yeah, i like eboue. he is error prone and a hot head. he’s one who will run at the other teams defense and create chaos (both good and bad). but damnit i’m glad he’s back!
