Arsenal boss Unai Emery has confirmed that one of the Gunners’ key players is on his way back to training ahead of the clash with Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday.

The new Arsenal manager has been hit by several injury blows to key players this season as he looks to secure a place back in the Champions League for the club.

A few weeks ago, Danny Welbeck sustained a season-ending injury and not too long after, Rob Holding suffered the same fate in the draw against Manchester United.

One of the next men to join the injury list was Shkodran Mustafi, who has been a regular performer so far this season.

The German defender has been sorely missed as he nurses a hamstring problem with the Gunners winning only one of their last four games in all competitions.

However, ahead of the trip to Liverpool, Emery has confirmed that Mustafi is on his way back and indeed the centre-back is now training on his own.

“Mustafi may also be close to training with us, but today he worked alone but with good feeling.” the Arsenal manager said

“Tomorrow is the last training before we travel to Liverpool and we need to know who can play in training.”
