Arsenal manager Unai Emery has revealed that he is ‘positive’ over one of his key players returning from injury ahead of the clash with Manchester City.

The new Arsenal boss has been troubled by injuries this season as he looks to help the club return to the Champions League after what has been almost a two-year absence from Europe’s elite club competition.

The Gunners faced Manchester United in the FA Cup exactly a week ago as the Red Devils eliminated them from the competition.

Laurent Koscielny was one of the players who succumbed to an injury blow during the clash with United at the Emirates stadium.

The French defender suffered what appeared to be a serious jaw injury after an accidental clash with Romelu Lukaku while he was lying on the ground.

There were fears over Laurent Koscielny possibly needing surgery to recover from the injury but Unai Emery has revealed that the defender has actually made a quick return to training ahead of the trip to Manchester City.

“He trained today and we are positive with him.” the Arsenal boss said

Koscielny was sidelined for several months not too long ago as he missed the start of this season due to a serious injury he suffered at the end of last term.
