The Russian – alongside Jack Wilshere – was one of the players who stood out in the two-day tournament and he enjoyed his participation as much as fans who relished his two goals against Atletico Madrid.

The 28-year-old was delighted to see how the tournament turned out and surely realizes how prestigious his new home is.

“The organization of the tournament was pleasant to me. I was very pleased with all the games and the football. And it was nice to meet the fans who traditionally filled our stadium.” He told his website on Sunday.

After his brace against Atletico on Saturday, Arshavin promised to keep the goals coming as long as no one gets carried away.

He said: “I will not stop scoring because I am in a good mood right now. The main thing is to avoid being complacent towards the season.”
