The Brazilian ace is set to return to challenge Kieran Gibbs for a starting spot at left-back for Arsenal as the Gunners head into a vital run-in to the season.

After being signed from Fenerbahce to fill Gael Clichy’s void, Santos hardly failed to impress – in attack at least – displaying skillful ability going forward and even scoring a vital strike in the revival at Chelsea which ended 5-3 in favour of the Gunners.

Indeed, Santos was gradually becoming popular among fans before he was risked to take part in  a midweek Champions League trip to Olympiakos which saw him suffer a severe ankle injury, keeping him out of action ever since.

The Brazilian international recently had surgery to ligament damage in his ankle and has now revealed that he will be back in action within two weeks.

“I’m already training with the ball, and I’m feeling better every day. I believe I will be back in two weeks, doing what I love.” Santos said today
