Fabianski vs Chelsea
So if there was any positive from Sunday, it had to be this.
A goalkeeper who once handled the ball like a bar of soap turned up for the biggest of games with a performance which merited a better result for his team.
Credit all this turnaround in form and confidence for Fabianski to that penalty save against Partizan. But even so, only time and more games will tell whether he is actually capable of being Arsenal’s No. 1, since form is only temporary while class is permanent.

When your manager says you were the better team and that the match was surprisingly easy . . . do you realise why everyone thinks you’re arrogant?
When you score off two freak goals after being stretched – with your heart in mouth – for most of the match….do you realize you’re ignorant (of who was the better team – win/lose aside)?
I would rather be in your position in racking up the points despite the performance, but even a United fan who saw the entire match would feel we were hard done by.
You’re absolutely right; he has been outstanding for the past 2 games and he deserves more praise for especially his attitude.
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves though, it may just be a good run of form.
I totally disagree, did no one see that horrible blunder he made when punching the ball. If that had resulted in a goal people would be singing a different tune.
Still convinced that freakish first goal would not have happened if he was more focused and alert. He looked planted on replay. In contrast, most opposing team keepers seemed to have superhuman performances to deny Arsenal bombardments because Arsenal is a superior team. Why did he not coming up with the same alertness and fighting mentality? Relative to his past performances, yes there was improvement, but still lacking.
look we no he isnt the best keeper arouund and not the worst. hes playing well and lets hope it continues. we need to get behind him and support him infact we need to support the whole regardless of the results we can play a big part this season go GUNNERS
the way we palyed was awesome, we dominated the ball, created chances and we dealt with droga well. I feel honored to be an arsenEl fan. chelsea, are they just an better verion of stoke? really think about this. they have simmilar type players….. score from set pieces, now have even added the long throw to their boring play. If i ws abramovic i would demeand the football arsenal play… because look how much money they spend… so there is no excuse to play “ugly” football. wow how amazing are we to watch…. appreciate! wenger is a genius!! do chelsea really participate in “the beautiful game”?
Yeah, they’re just as much of a pain in the ass as stoke too!
Man City and Chelsea are a disgrace, the amount of money they spend on their squads is simply cheating imo. Wenger ftw!
i dont give a monkey’z if he does the best save of all time!
one swallow doesn’t make a summer for the flap.
we have bigger problems at the back now with those two clowns wenger bought.
I do give him credit with the last 2 good games he has had. I know we lost against Chelsea, but the goals were not entirely his fault. I doubt after the international break he’ll get the nod again. We’ll be seeing, Almunia again!
I knew it. he’ll be arsenal number 1 in future…. keep up fabianski ur da best.
hey randy can you help me with my blog i dont thin anyone reads it lol????
I will man. 😀
Am begining to believe in what Wenger has been saying abt Fabianski, he was awesome better than Almunia’s display so far.
F21 is always amazin, got d trait of great keepers, postioning and courage unlike A1,whose 1st post is always open, rememba both chs/l final goals against barca, berbetov’s in hart lane, abromovich’ in emirate, ngog in anie field and many more..F21 has n’t played with our best defender, most with mikael sylver, who will induce catastrophe in any homosapien even in aliens, but i understand PROF he suppose to be our 6th choice but we indulge been clay…i mean fragile gallas,D20
Nice work lukasz,u really helpd us. Continue to have d confidence and mentality. Hope baba will will be startn u in ur next couple of games,so that almunia can learn and have break to think abt his weak point and hope to work and improve on it
It seems what wenger said about fabiansky’s ability is true. You can see when he took his positioning, his reflex, tall. he just need playing time to raise his confidence.. Come on Fabiansky..
I do feel we were the better team…just unlucky with goals..nothing really cheaply given up.
1st goal, yeah a little harsh but that’s luck he got his foot on it..not much Fab or the defender could do.
2nd goal, what are you going to do? It was a hell of a shot and a great goal.
Fab played well and I think the whole team played well for such a harsh setting.
The only bad thing I would say about the team/performance is the fact that Diaby once again sucked it up and should not have been playing. Will be nice to have B52 back shortly to give Chamak a break.
I wouldn’t be surprised if you start to see JET take the Diaby role. Diaby just isn’t doing it lately and I think bringing in JET sent a msg to Diaby that his time is soon to end.
Biggest plus of the day..Jack Wilshire…yeah he may not have done a lot but the way he handled the middle, his head was on a swivel every time he received the ball. So long Cesc next year and hello the Jacky era.
Fab did great in goal, LK and Squaq are good, very tough and are a good pair, great pick ups once again by the gaffer..yeah they had a few weak spots but all in all did a great job in holding the middle down.
Gail- maybe it’s time that he sit the bench and let Gibbs get a solid crack.
All in all can’t complain, yeah we lost but we played well. We will be fine moving forward and have no doubt that we will pick some players up in the next Window.
It could be worse guys, we could be pool fans!
Stay positive, stay the course and Up the Guns.
