Arsenal’s colours appear to suit Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.

The former Lyon star has been linked with a switch to Arsenal even though there have been no indications of the transfer being completed before the start of the season just yet.

However, a deadline day move similar to the one which saw Mesut Ozil leave Madrid remains on the cards, especially after Arsenal’s director Lord Harris hinted of a Benzema bid and Arsene Wenger’s £200m transfer kitty yesterday.

The 27-year-old, who is valued at around £45m by Madrid, is currently Wenger’s prime target in the transfer market according to various claims from the Spanish media.

Benzema has been reportedly been made available for the right price by new boss Rafa Benitez who confirmed on Friday that there are no guarantees about the Frenchman’s future at the Bernabeu.

“In this case, Karim is our player so I will not talk about that. I hope, I’m sure, that he will stay with us.” Benitez said
