Fans react on Twitter to Olivier Giroud’s show on Tuesday
Arsenal fans have given mixed reviews about the performance of Olivier Giroud on Tuesday night.
The French international was making his first start in the Champions League this season after returning from injury by scoring a brace in the 4-1 victory over Sunderland on Saturday.
Giroud has often been a divisive figure for most fans who cannot seem to agree on whether he should be Arsene Wenger’s first choice striker or just an impact substitute.
The 30-year-old’s contribution on Tuesday was very clear though as his header leveled the score for Arsenal before half-time.
Giroud also played a part in the build-up to Mesut Ozil’s memorable goal by winning the ball back in midfield to hand it over to Mohamed Elneny.
Even so, not everyone felt the striker had a great game. Here were the various reactions from Gooners…
Giroud tracked back & tackled so Elneny can assist Mesut's goal.
He also scored the equalizer.
Can't hate him.— Arsenic (@Arsenic_L) November 2, 2016

Olivier Giroud is 15 goals shy of scoring 100 Arsenal goals. Olie got a lot of abuse in the past but it's time to admit he's done well.

Also noteworthy on the Ozil goal that Giroud won the ball back to allow that to happen. He has come back invigorated and looking good!

Alexis with another poor performance with Giroud up front this isn't a coincidence people
