Fans react to Aubameyang’s performance vs Newcastle
Many fans expressed their thoughts on social media after watching Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang feature in the 2-1 victory away to Newcastle in the Premier League on Saturday.
Prior to the international break, the Gunners had managed to register back-to-back victories over West Ham and Cardiff City to move into the top half of the table for the first time this season.
Saturday saw Unai Emery’s men visit Newcastle who have been struggling so far this term and goals from Granit Xhaka and Mesut Ozil were enough to see off the Magpies, even though they pulled back a goal in the dying minutes.
Featuring in the match was January signing Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, who scored his first goal of the season in the 3-2 win over Cardiff.
The former Borussia Dortmund star squandered an opportunity to increase his goal tally before being substituted and here was how fans on Twitter reacted to his scoreless display against Newcastle…

Aubameyang's confidence is shot

I'd rather play Mkhitaryan wide and just drop Aubameyang completely. Not the same player at all when he's out there. If you spend that much money on such a good player and don't get the most out of them it's a complete waste. Same goes for Özil with his new contract.

On Thursday I would play Aubameyang I would rest most of the players for Everton but feel he needs a goal or 2 to get him going 🔴⚪️
