Fans react to Lucas Torreira’s performance vs Everton

Arsenal fans took to social media to express their thoughts on the performance of Lucas Torreira in the 2-0 victory over Everton in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Gunners secured a 4-2 win in the Europa League on Thursday night ahead of the home clash with Everton.

And despite facing a stern test from the away side in the first half, Unai Emery’s men managed to earn all of the three points in the end, thanks to goals from Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang.

The match saw new signing Lucas Torreira make his first ever start for the Gunners in the Premier League.

The Uruguay international had been limited to a cameo role so far this season as Emery kept faith in Matteo Guendouzi instead.

After being handed his first league start for Arsenal on Sunday, Torreira helped the team secure their first clean sheet of the new season.

And here were the fans’ reaction to his performance….

Torreira is so important to this team now, the amount of mopping up he does is tremendous. Even with an early booking he still showed commitment with discipline

Lucas Torreira played his first European match on Thursday and picked up an injury. He said he wanted to play on but the decision was taken out of his hands. With only 2 rest days, he played the full ninety minutes today and was his usual combative self. He’s an absolute warrior.

Torreira and Sokratis have changed Arsenal for the better.

Who would have thought that a CDM and a CB would do so much to impact the squad…

…EVERYONE, that’s who.
