Arsenal have inched even closer to a deal to secure their second new signing of the summer transfer window, according to reports.

Unai Emery has come to the club with a lot to do after taking over from Arsene Wenger, who failed to secure a place in the Champions League for two seasons in a row.

The former Paris Saint-Germain manager has already managed to complete a shrewd deal to sign experienced full-back Stephan Lichtsteiner and he is now working on another move to bring in Sampdoria star Lucas Torreira.

The young South American had been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates stadium for the past couple of days and after all the speculation, the transfer now appears to be close to completion.

Indeed, reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the Gunners have agreed a deal worth £26.4million to sign the 22-year-old, who is likely to improve Emery’s midfield for next season.
