http://images.maxifoot.fr/sanogo-32.jpgAuxerre striker Yaya Sanogo will become Arsenal’s first acquisition this summer.

The 20-year-old had already agreed to join the Gunners last week and signed a pre-contract agreement over a four-year-deal at the Emirates stadium, but much of the formalities of his transfer are still in progress.

Auxerre president Cotret Guy has confirmed that Sanogo has now completed a medical to grant his move, but he will not team up with the Gunners until mid-June.

The youngster from Ligue 2 is out of contract this summer and will only cost Arsenal compensation of nearly £250,000 to Auxerre.

Sanogo, who made only 11 appearances in the league last season, does have his injury issues and will have to be carefully assessed by Arsenal when he permanently moves to London, but there are no issues concerning the talent of the 6’3” striker who netted a staggering seven goals in one week during a period in February. Those goals included four against Laval and a hat-trick against Tours.

Indeed, Sanogo’s exploits has been rewarded by France’s youth team coach Pierre Mankowski who has named the Arsenal-bound boy in the French Under-20 squad announced today ahead of the 2013 FIFA Under-20 World Cup.

Below were the four goals Sanogo netted against Laval three months ago.
