A well-taken goal from Donyell Malen on Monday has seen the Arsenal youngster tipped for a place in the first team amidst all the injuries.

The Dutch teenager was signed from Ajax in July after impressing Arsenal scouts before completing a trial at London Colney.

Malen, who has been involved in training sessions with the first team squad on several occasions this season, was recommended to Arsenal by Ajax head of youth Wim Jonk.

The Gunners’ U-21 team was in action against Brighton on Monday night and with the scores level after an hour, the 16-year-old managed to score a winning goal of sublime quality.
