After watching the Gunners play on Sunday evening, BBC pundit Gary Lineker admitted on social media that he is not optimistic about Arsenal’s future, even after a new manager is hired.

After the sacking of Unai Emery towards the end of last month, some fans might just have expected a noticeable improvement from the team in the fixtures that followed.

However, the Gunners have only managed to win one of their last five games in the post-Emery era and the latest of those results came against Manchester City on Sunday.

After conceding within two minutes of action, Arsenal went on to fall 3-0 behind by half-time, as they chased shadows for the rest of the clash with Pep Guardiola’s side.

Following the final whistle on Sunday, the Gunners’ hopes of finishing in the top four of the Premier League once again looked to be very slim and Gary Lineker has revealed that he fears things might not improve even with a new manager.
