Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville hailed one of the Gunners’ defenders after watching the team defeat Everton in a rollercoaster match in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Arsenal drew the Toffees 0-0 in December when the club was still in search of a new manager and the return fixture at the Emirates stadium had more action and goals.

Everton managed to take the lead very early in the game, forcing the hosts to chase an equalizer for much of the opening stages of the first half.

Thanks to a fine cross from Bukayo Saka, Arsenal levelled the score through Eddie Nketiah.

It was the youngster’s tenth assist of what is really becoming a wonderful breakthrough season for him at the Emirates stadium.

After seeing that great contribution from Saka, Gary Neville has been full of praise for the makeshift left-back who has now cemented his place in Mikel Arteta’s starting eleven.

Neville said as quoted by the Daily Star:“(Alex) Iwobi goes to sleep a little bit but he doesn’t do too much wrong. But that cross, wow.

“There is not a lot a defender can do about that and neither can the goalkeeper.

“The quality of the cross was absolutely outstanding. All you want is your striker in that position and he (Nketiah) is. He gets a good contact on it.

“It’s harsh to suggest that Arsenal fans were happy that Sead Kolasinac went off but there was a bit of a cheer.

“What a cross from Saka. I was having a mundane chat because I thought nothing was on.”
