Steven Gerrard has reassured the Arsenal faithful of the quality of Alexandre Lacazette following the striker’s first couple of displays in an Arsenal shirt.
After several months of speculation, the 26-year-old completed his transfer move to the Emirates stadium back in early July.
Lacazette bagged a few goals during pre-season before scoring on his Premier League debut in the dramatic 4-3 victory over Leicester City.
And had it not been for a relatively harsh decision from the referee, the France international would have added another goal to his tally against Stoke City on Saturday.
As a result, Gerrard has heaped praise on the former Lyon striker who was recently signed by Arsene Wenger for a club-record transfer fee.
“They’ve added Lacazette and he looks a real buy, for me,” the former Liverpool midfielder said
“They spent a lot of money on him but I’ve watched him a bit this season and he’s started with a bang.
“His movement in the box is excellent and he only needs one chance to score a goal.”
