Reports are suggesting that Wolfsburg have now made a formal enquiry to sign Olivier Giroud from Arsenal.
The Frenchman joined the club from Montpellier in 2012 as a replacement for the Gunners’ main goalscorer Robin van Persie.
Giroud has endured an erratic career at Arsenal where he has occasionally won praises for his goals and aasists but has often been criticized for his profligacy in front of goal.
However, Wolfsburg appear to have no concerns about the striker whom they are interested in signing this summer.
According to various rumours, the Bundesliga side are prepared to offer the 29-year-old a deal worth up to £5million-a-year to replace troubled former Gunner Nicklas Bendtner, who was released last month.
Giroud is currently on a goal-drought which has seen him fail to score in the Premier League since January.
