Good news for Arsenal as Wenger reveals 26-year-old could return to action this weekend

Arsene Wenger has revealed that one of his injured first team players could make a return to action this weekend.

The Gunners have been troubled by injuries, year after year over the past decade and that situation has barely improved so far this season.

Jack Wilshere, whose career at the Emirates stadium has been troubled by fitness blows over the years, has managed to feature in more games this term.

However, the 26-year-old is currently spending time on the sidelines after suffering yet another injury.

The midfielder was not included in the team which was beaten 3-0 by Manchester City on Thursday but he could be back this weekend.

According to Arsene Wenger, Wilshere is set to undergo a fitness test on Saturday and he could be involved in the trip to Brighton as long as he is able to train with the squad.

“If he can practice tomorrow, then he will be in contention.” Wenger said at his press-conference on Friday

“He will not practice today, he will have treatment and then a test tomorrow.”

Wilshere was one of Arsenal few passionate performers last Saturday as Wenger’s men lost 3-0 in the final of the Carabao Cup.
