Arsene Wenger has received a new injury boost through the news that one of his injured players managed to return to action this week.

Arsenal have often been troubled by injuries to several stars in the past but there have been better news so far this season with only a handful of players currently sidelined.

Lucas Perez, who moved to the Emirates stadium from Deportivo La Coruna right before the summer transfer window closed, has not featured as often as he would have expected so far despite scoring two goals on his second ever start for the Gunners against Nottingham Forest.

After being kept on the bench due to the encouraging form of Alexis Sanchez in the lone striker role, Perez was hit with another set-back as he suffered an ankle injury ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash with Burnley.

However IBTimes UK are now reporting that the 28-year-old, who has resumed training, is likely to recover in time for Arsenal’s meeting with Swansea after the international break.

After witnessing his side huff and puff at Turf Moor in a game of few goal-scoring opportunities, Wenger will be pleased to welcome back one of his strikers.
