Good news for Emery as key Arsenal star is cleared from injury ahead of Watford clash
The Gunners have been handed some good news on the injury front ahead of the clash with Watford in the Premier League this weekend.
Unai Emery was a bit relieved to see his side salvage a point from the north London derby after trailing by two goals, a week after the 3-1 loss away at Liverpool.
The Arsenal boss was handed a concern over the status of Nicolas Pepe, as reports (via ITV news) suggested that he had returned early from international duty due to an injury.
However, according to Football.London, the 24-year-old is actually not carrying any injury and his withdrawal from the Ivory Coast squad was only a precautionary decision to help his fitness.
Fortunately for Emery, Pepe is not set for an injury lay-off as many initially feared last week and the Gunners’ record summer signing will be in contention for the upcoming clash with Watford in the Premier League.
Pepe is still waiting to score his first goal for Arsenal, after moving to the Emirates stadium from Lille.
