Good news for Gunners as 29-year-old is announced in Arsenal squad for tour
One of Unai Emery’s key players has been named in the squad for the upcoming pre-season tour, despite being involved in this summer’s World Cup.
The new Arsenal manager is still working on putting together his best squad for what will be his first season as the replacement for Arsene Wenger.
Emery is believed to have already picked out his most important players already and many would expect Mesut Ozil to be one of them.
The 29-year-old was part of the German squad which somehow crashed out of the World Cup much earlier than most fans expected, after losing 2-0 to South Korea in their third game of the tournament.
Ozil would normally be handed a rest for being involved in the World Cup, but Emery, a manager known for sternly seeking hard-work from his players, has chosen to name the midfielder in his squad for the pre-season tour anyway.
