Arsene Wenger has been boosted by the news that one of his first-team stars is ready to commit his future to the club heading into the new season.
Several players in the Arsenal squad have been linked with a departure this summer even though there have been few exits so far.
David Ospina, who was rarely called upon in the Premier League last season, has previously expressed his desire to leave the club.
However, the 28-year-old who was rumored to be on the radar of Fenerbahce, appears to have changed his mind for now.
According to Ospina, he is ‘happy’ at the club and ready to compete for his place in the starting lineup next season.
“I have a contract here, I’m happy and I’m going to fight to the end, I want to continue and win a job.” the Colombia international said
“That’s what I’m working for, I’ve been working for three years and now I’m waiting for the opportunity.”
