Guardian journalist gives update on Arsenal transfer deal for €27.9m star
Journalist Ed Aarons has provided an update on one of Arsenal’s possible outgoing deals as Arsene Wenger begins his clear-out this summer.
The Gunners have welcomed two new signings so far but Yaya Sanogo and Wojciech Szczesny are the only senior players who have actually been allowed to leave the club.
That might change soon as Wenger looks to trim down his squad to make room for anyore new additions.
And one of the players who appears to be heading for a departure is Calum Chambers.
Reports have suggested that Crystal Palace have held talks with Arsenal over purchasing the centre-back who is priced at €27.9 million (£25 million)
But according to Aarons, the transfer fee which the Gunners are demanding has slowed down negotiations.
No progress in Palace's move for Calum Chambers. Clubs still some distance apart over fee #cpfc #afc
