Midfielder set for Arsenal departure in June
Yossi Benayuon’s days at Arsenal are numbered.
The Israeli midfielder has spent this season at the Emirates stadium on loan from Chelsea and will be saying goodbye to the Gunners in the summer.
Despite being denied regular action by Arsene Wenger, Benayoun has made his presence noticed in almost every appearance he has made in Arsenal colors, netting four goals in 11 starts for the club.
The 31-year-old further endeared himself into Arsenal’s interest by scoring in yesterday’s 3-0 victory at Wolves.
And with the Gunners possibly set to bid for his stay at the club while Chelsea demands that he returns in the summer, Benayoun admits that he is not too sure over which side of London he will playing for next season.
“I think it is difficult to speak now about the future.” he told The Evening Standard
“It is better to concentrate on the five weeks that are left and do my best for the club. I am fully committed to Arsenal and after we will see.
“After June 30, I am going back to Chelsea and then the club and I need to decide. Each one has to think what is best for them.”
Whether he is on the West or North side of London next season, Benayoun’s decent displays will ensure that he will not be without a club next year, but the Israeli ace still has an affection for his parent club.
“I will not lie, I love Chelsea, because I have a good relationship there. I didn’t play much, because I had a big injury,” he continued.
“I still have a lot of friends there I talk to every day. Of course I want them to do well, but it is difficult.”
Chelsea are understood to be in desperate demand of Yossi Benayoun’s return, after several fans – including blogs – rued the decision to allow the former Liverpool man out on loan while there was a minor midfield crisis at Stamford Birdge.

Kinda hope he stays actually! Yossi has proven to be a valuable asset to the team!! An his attitude is top notch!! Saying that he won’t get regular games here or probably at Chelsea so I wouldn’t be suprisedbif another team snatched him up! A real team player!!!
Help me beg AW 2 sign yossi permanently
Beneyoun should stay he has been a great signing
Arsenal need to concentrate keep d ball rolling.
Hope AW signs him permanently, will give us more depth in addition to the new signings this summer…
Yossi is a genius but hey he is not French so mr.Wenger won’t sign him.I did wish he become a full time player.
Well his experience help out defeat the spurds, liverpool and City and hopefully Chelsea.
Park Chu-Young (FW), Andre Santos (LB), Per Mertesacker (CB), Yossi Benayoun (MF) and Mikel Arteta (MF). Those are our last or Mr. Wenger’s last 5 signings. Of those 5- How many are FRENCH?
Change the record.
If benayoun returns to chelsea squad, what the future of juan mata?
Hope he stays cos he’s alwaya done a decent job when he’s played.
Yossi is a good midfield player but he is not better than Wilshire, Song, Arteta or Rosicky. I also think Coquelin and Miyaichi can be just as if not more effective than Yossi.
even him is a good midfilder so better 2 stay
We are going to miss benayoun
Yossi has really shown that he’s still a force to be reckon with; i sincerely wish him success on any side of london he may found himself.
in AW i believe yossi will stay permanently
wenger should pls sign him up.because is better than ramsey.sell ramsey and sign benayoun on long term basis.don’t let him go back to chelsea.prof pls we gunners fans need him most.GUNNERS TILL I DIE
SELL RAMSY !!!
He’s the only player we MUST SELL !!
Worst player on earth.
RAMSY MUST BE SOLD OR WE WILL KEEP GOING DOWN !!!
Your a fuckin idiot. If you ran our club we’d end up relegated. The one player we must sell? Really?? So to that extent you must really rate Squillacci then?
Like I said, your a fuckin idiot.
Yossi is a decent and professional footballer. He never let us down because he provided 100% while he was on the pitch. Sign him permanently AW!
i hope he stay… He is a little bit rusty but he gave experience
That tackle on zabaleta in the box is class
He gave the squad experience
He have more chance of playing time here than at Chavski
The new manager probably don’t want him
We got a real “Yid” captain than the scums 😉
He stays but he has to add more strength in his shoots
yossi is ten times better than ramsey.pls Aw sell ramsey cus he has no use in dat term.pls Aw!!!
Ramsey is a decent player going through a bad patch…..and he is under immense pressure! you could see this against mancity..he wanted to win the fans back by scoring. Let us support him through this period and surely…he will come out of it. Look at Torres….he is manifesting slowly but surely the class they saw at Atletico….
yes YOSSI IS GOOD AND DESERVES ANOTHER YEAR WITHUS. HOWEVER WITH THE FINE YOUNGSTERS WE HAVE IN ABANDANCE AND nOW ARTETA SONG AND OTHER EXPERINCED PLAYERS, HIS AGE IS AGAINST HIM FOR A PERMENANT PLACE. vERY SORRY TO SEE HIM GO BUT FOOTBALL IS FOOTBAL!!
please AW SIGN YOSSI permanently he is a team player ARSENAL needs.
