Despite rumours of uncertainty over his Arsenal future, Yaya Sanogo is expected to return to the Emirates stadium.

The Frenchman has spent the past nine months away from the club; first on loan at Ajax before opting to head back to England to play for Charlton for the rest of the season.

The 23-year-old, who joined the Gunners in the summer of 2013, endured a tough loan spell in Amsterdam during the first six months of the season, attracting criticism from the coaching staff at Ajax.

However, Sanogo managed to redeem some of his good form at Charlton, scoring three goals in eight appearances for the League one side which came in a hat-trick show against Reading in a 4-3 defeat in February.

The striker’s loan deal at the Valley will officially expire next week following the completion of the 2015/16 football calendar in England.

After missing out on selection for the France squad for Euro 2016 as expected, Sanogo, who will have a long summer to decide on his future, is expected to report back to the Arsenal camp ahead of pre-season in August.
