Arsenal are now pursuing the acquisition of a new fullback this summer according to the latest reports.
Arsene Wenger secured the signing of Rob Holding and Shkodran Mustafi last summer to strengthen his defensive department ahead of this campaign.
However, the Gunners, who are now 13 points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea, have continued to struggle at the back with Nacho Monreal in particular, failing to produce reliable performances at left-back.
The Spaniard’s declining form has prompted Wenger to search for a new left-back and Layvin Kurzawa appears to be the target.
Indeed, Sport Mediaset are claiming that the Paris Saint-Germain defender is currently being watched closely by Arsenal who have already made a bold enquiry about his availability.
Even though the future of Wenger remains unclear, the club is apparently not shying away from putting together a list of transfer targets ahead of next season.
According to the report, the Gunners are interested in making an offer in the region of $21.2 million (£17 million) for Kurzawa.
The signing of the 24-year-old, who started for PSG in their 4-0 thrashing of Barcelona recently, would be a major boost for Arsenal with back-up left-back Kieran Gibbs also struggling to find his best form.
Kurzawa was part of the AS Monaco team which knocked Arsenal out of the Champions League courtesy of a 3-1 win at the Emirates stadium two seasons ago.
