Gunners set to confirm signing of new defender within days – Report

Arsenal appear to be wrapping up their first acquisition of the January transfer window according to a new claim.

The Gunners have already been linked with a move for a host of players only days into the winter transfer window.

And according to the Daily Star, a journalist has boldly claimed that Arsenal are set to announce the signing of defender Cohen Bramall.

The report is suggesting that the 20-year-old has gone through a trial at the club which has seen him impress the Arsenal coaching staff.

In a Tweet by journalist Sam Elliott earlier today, he said: “Hearing Arsenal have won the race to sign Hednesford Town’s Cohen Bramall, the 20-year-old left-back. Will be confirmed this week #AFC”

Arsene Wenger’s pursuit of a new, younger left-back has become imperative following the declining form of Nacho Monreal this season.

Even so, Bramall, whose best experience as a professional footballer is from the seventh division, will come as a truly unknown quantity.
