BBC pundit and former Arsenal defender Martin Keown poured out his honest thoughts about certain underperforming players after watching the Gunners lose away to Atletico Madrid on Thursday.
The Gunners settled for a 1-1 draw last Thursday after a late goal from Antoine Griezmann gifted Atletico Madrid a priceless draw on the road at the Emirates stadium.
After that result, Arsenal were very much aware that a proper performance would be required in the second leg in order to secure a place in the final of the Europa League.
However, it just wasn’t to be for the Gunners who conceded a goal from former Chelsea striker Diego Costa on the stroke of half-time.
That strike from the Spain international was enough to inflict a 1-0 defeat on Arsenal which saw them bow out of the competition.
And after the game, former Gunner Martin Keown had a lot of strong words for Mesut Ozil whom he believes is not fit to wear the Arsenal shirt.
The 29-year-old, who recently renewed his contract at the Emirates stadium, certainly did not do enough to impress Keown.
