Several fans took to social media to express their joy over the performance of one of the players who featured in the attack for Arsenal on Thursday night.
The Gunners were well beaten at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon as they lost their hold on third place in the long race for a top four finish.
Arsenal manager Unai Emery was expected to make several changes to his starting eleven for the home clash with Napoli in the Europa League but he actually did not choose to rotate his options too much.
One of the players who managed to keep their place in the starting line-up for Thursday’s big game was Mesut Ozil, a man whom many fans still cannot agree on whether he is good enough to stay at the club or not.
The former Real Madrid star has continued to be linked with a departure, but in the final stages of this season, Ozil has been getting praises for his performances.
And his show against Napoli won him a few more compliments….
Some of Ozil's footwork in this first half has been out of this world.

Ozil was brilliant today… these kind of home games against teams that dont play physical game gives him the platform he needs to shine.
But when u are playing in a league like PL u are sure gonna face way more physical tests.

Remember when we signed Denis Suarez and half our fan base claimed it indicated that Ozil’s career is over. How is that coming along lads? Lol ?

Ozil was awesome today. Our midfield directed play and each player played their role to perfection. Ramsey again gave 100% as did Torreira. I just watched highlights it was a great display….we've nothing to fear from them next week. Totally positive.

Never thought Ozil was particularly fast, but he looked rapid at times in that first half ??

A beautiful piece of skill sent Ozil into a 50/50 with Koulabaly. Life ain’t fair Mesut!
