‘He has met Arsenal’: Sporting director confirms Gunners’ interest in gifted attacker
The Gunners are claimed to have held talks over the possible acquisition of a Swedish starlet and the club’s sporing director Jesper Jansson has revealed that Arsenal are indeed interested in the youngster, as per Fotboll Direkt.
Mostly during the days of Arsene Wenger, the Gunners made a name for themselves across Europe as a club with one of the best eyes for young, promising talent.
Much of Arsenal’s success over the past two decades has been engineered by the club’s ability to nurture bright youngsters and it appears as though that tradition could continue under new boss Mikel Arteta.
Swedish starlet Emil Roback is the youngster whom the Gunners are pursuing, that is according to his club Hammarby’s sporting director Jesper Jansson.
Jansson has informed the media that Arsenal have contacted them with an interest in the promising attacker who could fit in well with fellow whiz-kids Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka, were he to move to north London.
“We were contacted and know about the interest. He (Roback) has met Arsenal,” Jensson said, as per Fotboll Direkt
“He has also visited Arsenal. Yes, I understand the interest. He is a forward with a great physique and speed and already a skilled goalscorer.”
