Arsenal secured an important deal ahead of the weekend’s Premier League fixture against Swansea City.
The Gunners have often been criticised for failing to do enough to keep hold of star players over the years following the controversial exits of players like Samir Nasri, Robin van Persie and Bacary Sagna after contractual disputes.
However, the club did well to complete new deals for three important players on Thursday as Laurent Koscielny, Francis Coquelin and Olivier extended their contracts.
And according to Koscielny, who has been rated by many as one of the Premier League’s best defenders in the past couple of years, his satisfaction with how things currently are in London is why he agreed to sign the new deal.
“I feel very happy to continue my adventure with this club,” the France international said. “It’s been seven years and I have more [hopes] for the future with this team.
“I’m pleased for my family to live in London, for me to play for this club. I have everything here to be happy on and off the pitch, so that’s why I decided to continue my adventure with Arsenal.
“When you are a footballer, it’s not just about football, it’s about your life. Arsenal are a big part of my life. My children were born in London, a big part of my life, and my life’s changed since they were born.
“They are happy with their life in London, they love Arsenal and my children are always excited when they are going to the Emirates to watch a game. It’s the best thing I can have.
