The temporary departure of one of Arsenal’s most popular first team players has prompted a variety of reactions from fans and pundits.

After being troubled by injuries ever since the end of the 2010/11 season which saw him break into Arsene Wenger’s side, Jack Wilshere’s Arsenal career is at its soul-searching state.

The 24-year-old completed a loan move to Bournemouth on transfer deadline day which will see him feature for last season’s newly promoted top flight team for the rest of this term.

However, Sky Sports pundit Tony Gale sees the move as a surprise one given Wilshere’s status as a fans’ favourite at Arsenal.

“I’m surprised he’s leaving Arsenal because I thought Jack was the heartbeat [of the team] when he played.” he said

“I thought Arsenal were a better side with a fully fit Wilshere but he needs games, so this is good for him.”

Even so, Gale insists Bournemouth will be the right fit for the England international who is likely to return an improved player.

“[Eddie}Howe will give him that license in midfield, a three man midfield. He’ll get plenty of ball and he will become the king of Bournemouth.”
