The club’s medical staff has provided the status of Henrikh Mkhitaryan ahead of the trip to Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Gunners were able to beat Cardiff City at the Emirates stadium on Tuesday night as goals of Pierre Emerick-Aubemyang and Alexandre Lacazette secured a 2-1 win.

Arsenal will now be looking to secure another win when they visit Manchester City on Sunday, especially after seeing top four rivals Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur secure wins on Saturday.

Unai Emery is expected to make a few changes to his starting eleven as usual, considering the fact that the trip to the Etihad stadium is coming only a couple of days after the clash with Cardiff City.

One man who has not been in action for the Gunners for several weeks now is Henrikh Mkhitaryan, a player who was in decent form right before he suffered his most recent injury.

The Armenian international has made his way back into training ahead of the trip to City and the club’s medical staff has revealed that he is being checked to see if he could make Sunday’s game.

“Right foot. Being assessed ahead of Manchester City (a).” an update from the club said

Arsenal boss Unai Emery also revealed on Friday that the former Dortmund and Manchester United star is now back in action at London Colney.

“He started to train with us today and he’s training normally. He is with us now.” Emery said
