Mesut Ozil has admitted that the Arsenal squad is not good enough to match other major clubs in Europe.
The Germany international has been linked with a departure due to his apparent reluctance to sign a new contract.
Ozil was part of an Arsenal team which was dismantled by Bayern Munich 10-2 on aggregate in the round of 16 of the Champions League this year.
Thus, the former Real Madrid star has called for Arsene Wenger and the club’s hierachy to do something this summer.
“I think the club know they need to strengthen,” the midfielder said
“But what’s most important is the manager’s opinion.
“He and the club will make the decision.
“When you look at our squad, it’s not as broad as Bayern’s or Real Madrid’s.
“In the Champions League, that’s not enough, especially against big teams, because they have more breadth in their squad.”
