The Ivorian is subject to a transfer to Manchester City and according to Sports Mail who first hinted the news last night, the 28-year-old has said yes to a £120,000-a-week wage offer.

City have reportedly upped their offered fee from £15 to £16 million with an agreement of additional payment if the veteran impresses at Eastlands.

Arsenal have also made a “verbal” agreement with the blues and Arsene Wenger affirmed that following the preseason encounter with Szombathelyi. The Frenchman insisted a verdict on Toure’s future should be made within 24 hours.

But it will certainly take more time than that for an official declaration of the defender’s move to be made.

Kolo is set to arrive in England later on Wednesday and is due to undergo a medical which should be a success after his solid display in his farewell game for Arsenal on Monday.

Should all happen as planned, Toure will be unveiled as Manchester City’s latest recruit from Arsenal in less than a week.
