Lost hope? Think of this…
Saturday’s draw at West Brom was a dent in Arsenal’s title fight but definitely not its hopes.
Indeed, that point Van Persie snatched came with the benefit of keeping Arsenal’s fate in their own hands.
Yes, as hopeless as it may seem at the moment with the Gunners’ declining form and United’s rising ability to grind out results, Arsenal actually don’t need to follow results elsewhere but only their own to secure the Premier League title.
Indeed, Wenger’s men will be guaranteed the crown IF, and only IF, they were to win all their nine games left (including the home clash with United at home).
Now, that IF is made very huge by several factors which range from the difficulty of Arsenal’s remaining fixtures to the Gunners’ ability to challenge which was questioned again by more defensive hiccups from Almunia and Squillaci.
But in the unlikely but certainly not impossible event of Arsenal going on a nine-game winning streak, they would win the title by one point even if United fought as hard and also won all their run-in games – excluding the visit to the Emirates of course.
Hmm…one point. How vital was Van Persie’s goal then?
Now let’s see what the possible returns of Alex Song, Cesc Fabregas and Theo Walcott might do to help.

CMONNNNN YOU GUNNERS!!
Totally deluding yourselves! This team is incapable of winning one game at the moment let alone 9 on the bounce. Completely laughable to even consider it a possibility.
There’s no reason why we cant go on a 9 game winning streak, the Int break may well yet serve as a much needed punctuation mark, and herald the beginning a winning phase for us.
C’mon you Gunners
Important point, especially as spurs lost points.
We have no chance in hell to win the league with these Arsene´s loveplayers like Almunia, Denilson, Diaby, Eboue and his buying of second rate defenders in the mould of Cygan.
Terrible to see this season after season, after seeing Almunia doing an Almunia AGAIN I wonder in Arsene EVER told him to NOT leave his area BECAUSE EVERY F-G TIME HE DOES IT ENDS UP WITH DISASTER!
But somewhere I do feel sorry for Almunia, knowing that you spent almost your entire life doing something that you´re utter shit at…
Away to spurs, blackool and Stoke will get us 3 points at most. Man u at home is a game we go into as underdogs so can’t see us winning that one and Liverpool against Andy carroll and Suarez doesn’t fill me with confidence especially with our cb and gk situation. So IMHO there are 27 points at stake – I think we’ll drop 11 of those. Now that’s not to say that man u won’t drop that many points but on yesterday’s evidence I can seem them winning all their home games including the game against Chelsea and picking up vital points away. The international break couldn’t have come at a better time for them either instead of playing Wednesday and sat the they now have 2 weeks to get all their players back.
On a more positive note our league record in 2011 is the best in the league!
We are our own greatest enemy not the opposition. On our day, we can beat the best team in the world. Just like our win over Barcelona in the 1st leg of the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE. We are simply not consistent enough.
How can we possibly go on a 9 game winning streak if we cant beat w.brom (relegation contenders) … we have got some seriously tough games coming up and with our current injury list … we are in deep sh*t … sorry fellas !
All you so called gOoners conceiding defeat to spuds already should be fucking ashamed of yourselves.
The main problem wenger is causing now is that most arsenal fans now watch arsenal because they are fans. Not that they are really hoping to win. You see most of our players doesn’t even show desire on the pitch and That’s the most sickening part of it.
i aint lost hope at all, im still with arsene 100%, and the squad 110%. they will win the league and they will shut you non-believers up. GO ARSENAL!
No way this team can win more than 15 points in the remaining games. They lost their fighting spirit completely. But they cannot even realise it. Their grandpa (Wenger) tells them they got what it takes……
Been the pub all day?
I worry about a top 3 finish now let alone the title!
Almunia, Squillaci, Koscielney, Denilson, Rosicky, Diaby and Bendtner still have plenty of time to derail us. AKB my arse!
thank u for the silver lining
Once Walcott, cesc, song come back, see what we do to others!
That is true wit song back in his dm position n fabregas pullin the strings in midfield n Walcott trmerrorizin defences u can imagine the looks on the otha players face!!! We’ve still gt a chance no doubt but we need nw step up a gear n have Lehman In nets!!!!!!
haha randy nice one really 1 point lolz
tis possible ffs u fake gunnerz
